Aquarium plants
If you want to place aquarium plants in your fish tank, you will see
that they give a whole different look and feel to how the tank is perceived.
But it is also very important that you be prepared to make sure that
you have the right fertilizer to make the plants continue to grow.
There are three basic fertilizers for plants in your aquarium: solid,
tablets and liquid.
• Solid – Solid fertilizers will have the most powerful
effect on plants in your aquarium because this type of fertilizer is
absorbed through the roots of the plants in the tank. This could be
a good option, but be sure to use correct portions. The wrong portions
could do irreparable damage to your aquarium plants.
• Liquid – Liquid fertilizers are different in that they
are absorbed through the leaves and will have an effect that is less
dramatic for your plants. One of the nice things about liquid fertilizers
is that the amounts are not very hard to apply. Also, if you accidentally
use too much, the problem can be corrected simply by changing the water.
• Tablets – Tablets are by far the easiest kind of fertilizer
to use. Because the number of tablets you use directly corresponds with
the amount of water in the tank, all you have to do is drop in the number
of tablets that works with the specific amount of water and you should
be good to go. The amount of tablets used for specific gallons will
be listed on the tablet package.
Aquarium plants can be a good addition to your tank. However, before
you buy the plants, find out what kinds of fertilizers work best with
certain kinds of plants. That will increase the likelihood of maintaining
an aquarium in which plants can grow and thrive.
